Holy Adele: Adele is Officially Back and We're Officially Freaking Out

It's been four years since Adele released her last album, and since she's promised fans that another album would come soon. The final weeks of waiting are upon us and the album is expected to sell a million copies within the first week of its release (and half a million copies in the first day alone). We get a preview with “Hello.”
I remember my time in high school, sitting on my living room couch, watching the VMAs and seeing Adele perform “Someone Like You.” I knew then that Adele was going to be another pop queen (time to step aside for a little bit Beyoncé and Lana). And Adele has proved me right.
“Hello” is a beautiful, powerful song that will give you chills for its entire duration. It starts off with the lyrics “Hello. It’s me.” which has spiraled 1,000 parody vines comparing the song to Lionel Richie’s “Hello.” The rest of the lyrics tell the story of a heartbreak (classic) and her experience with an ex-lover whose heart she broke instead of the other way around… plot twist. With lyrics like “I must’ve called a thousand times to tell you I’m sorry for breaking your heart” and “they say time’s suppose to heal ya, but I ain’t done much healing” it’s almost impossible not to get emotional.
Adele’s gorgeous, prevailing voice belting the lyrics is intriguing enough, but the song becomes so addictive after just a few listens that you literally can't take it off repeat. Whether "Hello" sneaks onto your pregame playlist or you’re singing it alone in your car, this song is absolute perfection.
The music video is shot in black and white in classic Adele fashion. Besides the fact that she looks stunningly gorgeous, watching the video itself is a borderline out-of-body experience. The emotion in Adele's face is contagious and the story told throughout the video keeps you hooked on every word she utters. I cannot wait to see what the rest of the album has in store.
