Game of Thrones Recap: Snow Day
Not that Game of Thrones fans are thaaaaat surprised or anything, but last night's episode "Home" had a LOT of jaw dropping moments. Plot twist: Jon Snow is alive.
Melisandre said some gibberish, touched Jon’s abs, and brought him back to life. Pretty cool. There were a lot of fan theories about Snow’s return, but the show is so unpredictable that no one really knew how or when it would happen. Regardless, it’s great news that he’s still kickin’.
Kit Harington, the actor who plays Snow, claimed all along he wouldn't be coming back to life. The English actor spoke with Entertainment Weekly and issued a sweet apology for lying to us this whole time.
“Sorry! I’d like to say sorry for lying to everyone. I’m glad that people were upset that he died. I think my biggest fear was that people were not going to care. Or it would just be, ‘Fine, Jon Snow’s dead.’ But it seems like people had a, similar to the Red Wedding episode, kind of grief about it. Which means something I’m doing — or the show is doing — is right.”
Now that he’s back, the real question is what will become of Jon Snow? Is he going to go back to the other side of the wall? Will he try and defeat Ramsay? Things could go in any direction. At this point in the show, now that Snow’s revival is out of the way, things are about to get wild. For all we know, he might not totally be himself. He could have no memories, he could have wounds that never heal, or he could be possessed by some weird Red Woman spell. We literally know nothing.
In the end, it is a little fishy how easy it was to bring a dead dude back to life. But, it is still only the second episode in the series. Melisadre must have another plan for Snow.
