Fingering Tips: How to Pleasure Her the Right Way

Design by Brittany Isdith Getting fingered is pretty strange when you think about it. Someone is putting the same appendages they use to shove chicken wings in their mouth into your *ahem* lady parts. It can be awesome, if it’s done properly. But if it's done badly—a disaster.

Here are some tips if you are doubting your fingering abilities.

  1. Cut your damn fingernails. This may seem like it would be common sense, but some people need to be reminded. Keep your nails short please. Pinching and scratching have a place, but not here. For the love of god… not here.
  2. Lower the volume on the jams. You're not digging your way out of Shawshank Prison, so don't jam your entire hand up there and assume your partner is going to melt into a puddle. We learned at a very young age that jamming anything anywhere is a bad idea. Jamming your grubby fingers into a precious girl’s vagina is a super bad idea. It is uncomfortable and can be very painful. Ease up big guy.
  3. Explore the area. Here’s the heartbreaking truth: most women will not and cannot reach orgasm just from vaginal penetration. The clit is an extremely important area to keep in mind while hooking up. You never want to be known as the one who couldn’t find her clit. That is a dishonor that will bring shame to you and your ancestors.
  4. Do not be a lurker. Do not stare at her face to see if she’s “enjoying” it. That is creepy and really strange. A little bit of eye contact can be very sexy, but a stalker stare is most certainly not. Bedroom eyes, people. Avert your attention to different things while you’re going at it.
  5. Don’t go in dry. Jumping in without foreplay can actually be painful, so make sure things are working up to this point. A little natural lubrication is absolutely vital before fingering can take the main stage. Otherwise, you're dealing with straight up friction. Friction isn’t sexy.
  6. Keep numbers in mind. You’re fingering, not fisting. Don’t just shove your entire hand up there without talking about it first... but just one finger? Come on, you’re not trying to replicate a tampon here. Two to three digits will usually do the trick.
  7. It's not just for foreplay. Things like fingering or eating someone out shouldn’t just be before sex activities. They should be a la carte, if you will. When they are only performed right before sex, they tend to be rushed. Slow down and quit rushing through it… you'll get your turn (if you're lucky).
