What your Favorite Place to Eat in Syracuse Says About You
Everyone has a go-to food spot. For some it’s the dining hall. For the lucky ones who can dish out 20 dollars for a meal, it’s Original Grain. In Cuse’, where you eat can say a lot about you. Some places are better than others, but then again, some people are better than others too.
Sadler Dining Hall: You’re either a freshman, or you decided to make the walk down the Carrier Dome steps. These people are either really into mediocre food (warm cookies excluded) or want to reminisce about their days living in the dorms. We’re not sure why you would want to remember pregaming in a room the size of a large box, but hey, to each their own.
Original Grain: Yes, we did see that grain bowl on your Snapchat story and yes, we know you’re not at the dining hall. If you eat here regularly, you probably have a great insta feed and make weekly trips straight from Zoom Tan to OG to get a piece of avocado toast.
Ernie Davis: You just had class. Or you’re hungover and want some brunch. Nothing better than a donut, bacon, eggs, and tacos all in one meal.
Pastabilities: You’re very patient. 3 hours is a long time to wait for some pasta. Those who are willing to wait know what they want, no matter what the cost. We admire your endurance… we just hope the hot tomato oil and warm bread are really worth it.
Starbucks: See Original Grain above. But with caffeine!
Life Sciences Cafe: You just had the worst chem exam. Ouch. Might as well get a mediocre egg and cheese bagel.
Calios: You go to Syracuse. Like everyone else here, you need a little sustenance when you’re 6 shots deep and it’s 10 degrees. Harry’s and DJ’s are only a short walk away, so there’s no reason not to satisfy that drunk food craving. However, if you eat here sober, you’re probably not very picky, or just a really big fan of calzones…
Peoples Place: Yes, they do have a lot of food options now! Regulars there are usually ~alternative~ and have never had Starbucks in their life because tHeY’Re nOT MaINsTreaM. If you make the trip to the basement of Hendricks Chapel, you’ll be in for some music and good vibes. Chill people only.
