Let’s face it: the university and the city of Syracuse are not the most diverse of places. Becky from New Jersey who is majoring in PR, dreams of working at Glossier, and wears her Canada Goose every day is everywhere you look.

We certainly don’t mean to say that every individual at this institution isn’t unique. Maybe you won’t be president one day like your mommy used to tell you when she tucked you in at night, but you are all special and beautiful. And you all come to Syracuse University with a unique vocabulary of hometown slang.

We at Jerk are here to help homogenize and break the language barrier. We bestow upon you this slanguage dictionary in order to once and for all unite California and Connecticut, Minnesota and Mississippi, and everywhere else in between.

*Disclaimer: The majority of students here are from the northeast, so our dictionary may be reflective of that. But hey, we tried our best.
