Those Balenciagas, the Ones That Look Like CROCS
Make sure your adventure straps are on… Crocs are coming back and we aren’t that mad about it.
Whether you love ‘em or hate ‘em, you can’t deny that this iconically ugly form of footwear is resurfacing everywhere lately.
We’re just going to state the facts: Crocs could not be less appealing to the eye if they tried. They’re weird as hell and that’s exactly why we like them. There’s something about a neon foam clog that is incomparable to that of a Louboutin. Red bottoms don’t have a sport mode.
Yes, Crocs look like waterproof clown shoes, but they have character. If you roll up to class, jibbitz and all, there is no doubt that you will stand out from your Nike and Docs adorned classmates.
Croc-wearers deserve a special kind of respect. If you can make Crocs look cool, then you can probably do anything that this life has to offer. It takes a level of confidence to ~rock a croc~ and recently, it seems like more and more fashionistas are up for the challenge.
This month, the Crocs brand collaborated with the absolute icon, Ruby Rose, for a grungy, 90s inspired collection which has already sold out everywhere. But, the celebrity Croc support doesn’t stop there! Zooey Deschanel has also partnered with Crocs for their “Come As You Are” campaign, supporting individuality and comfort in style.
We can’t neglect to mention that Balenciaga (no, that wasn’t a typo) released their own take on the classic Croc. Naturally, they have five-inch platform soles and are cost equivalent to about 25 pairs of original Crocs… but still!
While it seems as though we can all agree that Crocs are downright fugly, it looks like they aren’t going away anytime soon. Start picking out your jibbitz… the most meme-able shoe is back and guess what, they are here to stay!
