The Peachy Side to Trump’s Impeachment

After two years, nine months, and 11 days of attempting to throw “Not My President” Donald Trump out of the White House, Democrats have finally made some progress. In fact, Trump is lucky president #4 to receive the honor of an impeachment inquiry by House Democrats. Will Americans sit back and watch what some would call “karma” exile him to the Ukraine? Only time will tell.

For those of you who are less politically inclined, President Trump is currently in the process of being formally impeached. Ouch. It all began on September 24th when Nancy Pelosi publicly accused Trump of his, “betrayal of his oath of office, betrayal of our national security, and betrayal of the integrity of our elections.” These accusations arrived after a phone call between Trump and the Ukrainian President turned into Trump essentially trying to get the Ukrainian government to dig up dirt on his political opponent, Joe Biden, and Biden’s son, Hunter.

Needless to say, this isn’t exactly a good look for Trump.

While Trump may have confused sleazy business tactics with politics, that didn’t stop him from defending himself adamantly on… you guessed it… Twitter. Furious with the bad press, Trump posted “PRESIDENTIAL HARASSMENT!” on his infamous account, leading just about every white, male, upper-class republican man in the world to come to his aid. Forget real harassment, (Jessica Leeds? Mindy McGillivray? Rachel Crooks?) this is the stuff that’s worth defending.

Democrats are unsurprisingly trying their best to move the impeachment inquiry along as quickly as possible. With the 2020 race rapidly approaching, they want to see Trump kicked out before he can even see the finish line. The House is also currently seeking subpoenas for important Ukraine documents as well as other forms of evidence from the White House. Additionally, they have begun to question key witnesses such as Michael Atkinson, the second Inspector General of the Intelligence Community (aka the guy who spurred the whole impeachment). Regardless of your political views, your opinion on Trump, or your feelings about everything that’s about to occur in the White House, this is going to make history.

So what is the peachy side of Trump’s impeachment, you may ask? To some… the fact that it’s actually fucking happening.
